The Service
Mission of Charles B. Maclean, PhD
- To ignite
passion for community give-back -
We
are the advocates for the highest interests of the donor. We coach
nonprofits to relate to these donors as partners in social change.
We coach financial advisors to ethically and effectively raise the
giving question with clients. We encourage recipients to give-forward
some of what they have received and to fully claim the joys of giving.
As the
committed listeners* to the voice of the new generation donor,
we translate our research into:
-
Coaching
and research for donors in accountable stewardship coupled
with passion based giving.
-
Training
of fundraisers in the skills of the artful, ethical
'ask'. Donors become aware that they receive a priceless
gift . . . when they give their gift.
-
Donor
assistance that removes personal roadblocks to giving,
making it possible to say "yes" or "no"
to giving requests . . . and feel good about it.
-
Giving
support tools that proactive nonprofits and savvy financial
advisors use to promote a donor's due diligence. This
support for donors earns their trust and fosters their
inclination to give.
-
Inquiry
leading to strategies and innovations for inspiring
and branding of giving as a way of living

My
credo is that it is through giving and receiving that we discover
what matters to us and . . . therefore who we are. We cannot not
give and be fully human. I am convinced that much of the pain in
the world comes from not giving and the joy comes from giving. Donors
don't have to be convinced to give. We merely have to assist them
to identify, honor and dissolve their barriers and act on their
giving mission.
Lend credibility and momentum to the donor's urgent message . .
. "Fundraiser, ask me what
I care about . . . before you tell me what you care about".

Listener Defined |
One
who creates an environment of trust and makes it safe and supportive
enough so that the clients hear themselves like never before. Then
working together, those insights are turned into actions that benefit
and enliven the recipient, the community and giver in measurable
ways
